The goal of Ready Player One is to explore different paths to metaverse monetization and contribute to the understanding of utility-based metaverse economies. Under this goal, Ready Player One chose advertising as our starting point, because we realized that the user's attention is one of the most important resources in the Metaverse. Whereas productivity in the real world manifests itself in tangible goods and services, productivity in the virtual world is based on the user's attention. Users' participation in Metaverse activities is actually an exchange between their attention and products from the Metaverse. And there is no more tried and tested way to capture the value of that attention than advertising. Advertisers seeking public exposure in the Ready Player One metaverse will be a source of revenue for landowners and builders. In return, these asset holders and builders are incentivized to enrich users’ Metaverse experience to attract more traffic and make their assets more valuable to advertisers, forming a positive cycle.
